{nl}Alice Lloyd College’s Physical Education Department recently hosted a “Mind & Body” workshop to show faculty, staff, and students the different ways sports and physical fitness impact our lives. PE and Sports & Fitness Management majors were responsible for all activities performed during this special event. June Buchanan School students in grades 4 through 12 visited the workshop as participants. Students enjoyed completing each activity and competing against their teachers, while learning about hand-eye coordination, range of motion, and much more! The workshop demonstrated that Physical Education is much more than just running and sports! Participants learned about exercise physiology, the sociology of sports, motor learning, fitness, and advanced sports fundamentals. Special thanks to Mr. JR Hammonds, ALC Physical Education teacher, for working with students at JBS during this day. Also, thanks to the entire ALC Physical Education department for all their hard work during this workshop. Faculty, staff, and students all had a wonderful time!
