George Nichols III: Dedicated to a Life of Service
George Nichols III, a 1980 graduate of Alice Lloyd College, was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where he was raised with his four older sisters. He remembers the powerful experience of his childhood; being brought up in a home of strong, influential women. He credits both his childhood and life with his wife and two daughters—all resilient women—for having shaped him into a better man. George constantly reminds his son that he will be just fine in the future—surrounded by that same atmosphere. He and his wife, Cynthia Jean “CJ”, currently reside in Potomac, MD with their three children, Courtney, Jessica, and George IV.
ALC Athletics Welcomes Four New Members to Hall of Fame Class of 2018
On Saturday, October 13, 2018, Alice Lloyd College welcomed four individuals into its Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony took place at the new college Campus Center Complex as part of the annual Appalachia Day Homecoming activities. This year’s inductees were: Whitney (Bree) Frazier-Cook, JR Hammond, Ervin Stepp, and Lamar Williams.
Alice Lloyd College Celebrates Alumna and Alumnus of the Year
On September 21st, Alice Lloyd College held the twenty-second annual Alumna and Alumnus of the Year banquet in the historical Cushing Hall. The banquet recognized two Alumni for their exemplification of the core values of the Purpose Road Philosophy. Mabel Childers (Class of 1954) and Dr. Clenon Turner (Class of 1961) gathered with family and friends to celebrate their lives of service.

Jana Herron: Embracing Every Second
Jana Herron, 1996 Alice Lloyd College alumna, was raised in Galax, Virginia. She now resides in Ooltewah, Tennessee, with her husband of nineteen years, Greg, and their two children, Marli and Lendi. After graduating from ALC, Jana completed her Master’s degree in Biology from EKU as a Caney Scholar in 1999. With a boundless passion for learning, she has taken classes toward a second Master’s in Apologetics at Luther Rice Seminary, and still has a strong desire to complete her Ph.D. in Biochemistry.
ALC Alumnus Named President of The American College of Financial Services
Alice Lloyd College 1980 Alumnus George Nichols III went from his time along the banks of Caney Creek to an enormously successful career in the financial services profession, both in the public and private sectors. It is this extensive career that has uniquely qualified Mr. Nichols to serve as the new president and chief executive officer for The American College of Financial Services.
Audra Boggs: Embracing Her Roots
Audra Joann Boggs, first-generation college graduate, considers herself among the leaders that are shaped at Alice Lloyd College. She is the daughter of Jeff and Wyona Boggs and was born and raised in Millstone, Kentucky. Audra embraces her deep, Eastern Kentucky roots and says, “I have never had a desire to live or work anywhere else.”
