Alice Lloyd College Announces New Criminal Justice Major
Alice Lloyd College is pleased to announce the addition of a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice to the College’s academic offerings. The new degree will expand the numerous ways that graduates of ALC will be able to serve Appalachia, with nearly 90% of ALC graduates returning to the region, students who complete a bachelor’s degree in this program will be likely to return to the area to work.

Shane Caudill: Making the Most of Second Chances
Shane Caudill, a native of Knott County, Kentucky, is a sophomore Business Administration major at Alice Lloyd College. When speaking of the College community, Shane states, “I’ve lived in Pippa Passes for almost my entire life, and Alice Lloyd College has been a part of it for just as long. Many of my family work here as employees, and I know many of the faculty and staff personally. This is one of the biggest benefits of having a smaller campus; you can interact with the staff and instructors directly. You never feel like you’re just another student, and it’s one of the reasons I chose to continue my education here.”
Creating Opportunities through Service: Mrs. Denise Jacobs
Assistant Professor of Business Denise Jacobs first set foot on the Purpose Road in 1982, and she has been a member of the Alice Lloyd College family ever since. Denise graduated in 1986 with a degree in Business Administration and went on to get her MBA at Morehead State. She continually believes that the mission of Alice Lloyd College changed her life forever.
ALC Holds Spring 2019 Opening Convocation
With the smooth start of another semester, Alice Lloyd College opened the doors of its convocation series on Tuesday, January 15th. As always, students, staff, and faculty members were met with positive words from President Joe Stepp regarding the ongoing projects on campus. Plans to updates buildings such as the Campbell Arts Center and the Anderson Science Center as well as completion of streetlamp installation, improvements to parking areas, and preparations for a new women’s dormitory were all featured in the president’s encouraging address. “We are very blessed… we are not trying to get bigger, just better and stronger,” is what President Stepp had to say about the new developments that will undoubtedly further provide the students with the commodities and atmosphere to strive for success.
