Alice Lloyd College joined the Letcher Elementary and Middle School community on Tuesday, September 23rd, for a special Family Night and Career Fair event filled with excitement, learning, and hometown pride.
Representing the College, Jennifer Hall, Director of Marketing and Communications, spoke with students about the many paths within the world of marketing, highlighting social media management, and encouraged them to dream big about their future careers. She also shared how education can open doors to opportunities that will change not just their lives, but the entire Appalachian region.
Adding a touch of fun to the evening, Talon, ALC’s beloved mascot, was a crowd favorite, greeting students with high fives and fist bumps, posing for photos, and spreading the unmistakable Eagle spirit throughout the gymnasium.
“Being part of events like this reminds us why our work matters,” Hall shared. “It’s about investing in the next generation and helping students see what’s possible for their future. It doesn’t just start when they begin their walk on the Purpose Road. We want to inspire them long before they come to Caney Creek.”
For more than a century, Alice Lloyd College has been committed to serving the Appalachian region, preparing students not just for successful careers, but for lives of leadership and service. Events like this reflect The Purpose Road Philosophy in action. By partnering with local schools and encouraging young people to pursue their dreams, the College continues to invest in the future of central Appalachia.
