BEREA, Ky. — The KIAC coaches released their selections for the 2013-14 men’s All-Conference Team, and Alice Lloyd College is proud to report that Eagle sophomore forward Tyler Rogers was placed on the elite roster.

This season, Rogers has been a force inside, averaging nearly 14 points per game. He ranks 1st in all of NAIA Division II in blocks per game with 3.6 and total blocks with 91. The Lexington, Ky. native’s superior play in the post has helped lead Alice Lloyd into the KIAC Men’s Final Four for the first time in 16 years. ALC is the tournament’s No. 6 seed.

“This is such an honor,” says Rogers. “I’m proud to represent my school.”

In other conference news, the KIAC coaches also selected Asbury University forward CJ Penny as the conference player of the year and Indiana University head coach Wiley Brown as the conference coach of the year, conference officials announced Thursday, February 27th.

CJ Penny led Asbury to a 17-11 overall record and 10-8 conference record. The Eagles entered the KIAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed. Penny was 9th in the conference in points per game (15.89), 2nd in field goal percentage (55.7), 1st in rebounds per game (10.04) and 4th in steals per game (1.75). He also ranked 7th in NAIA total rebounds per game (10.04). He was named the KIAC Player of the Week twice during the 2013-14 season.

Indiana University Southeast head coach Wiley Brown led the Grenadiers to a 24-3 overall record and 17-0 conference record. They are currently ranked No. 2 in the latest NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. IU Southeast entered the KIAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed and are looking for their seventh-straight KIAC title.

Berea College junior guard Daishon Robinson was named the KIAC Newcomer of the Year after transferring to Berea for the 2013-14 season. Robinson was named to the all-conference team. He ranked 6th in the conference in points per game (18.17), 3rd in steals per game (1.97) and 2nd in assists per game (4.90). He ranked in the top 25 nationally in total steals (57) and total assists (142). Robinson was named the KIAC Player of the Week once during the 2013-14 season.
