Alice Lloyd traveled north on Saturday to take on the Grenadiers of IU Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. The Eagles continued their skid as they came up short in this conference battle, 89-71.

The Eagles got off to a good start, taking a 9-5 lead about five minutes into the game. The game was very tight until the Grenadiers went on a 10-2 run midway through the 1st half. This would allow them to take a 42-33 advantage into the locker room.

Alice Lloyd’s comeback attempt started off nicely in the 2nd half. The Eagles (9-17, 2-11 KIAC) went on an 8-2 run to start the second stanza. Unfortunately, this would be as close as the visitors would get. Alice Lloyd managed to remain in striking distance of IU Southeast (19-3, 9-0 KIAC), but was not able to make a run for the lead.

The final score does not reveal the whole story of this game. ALC was able to stay within single digits of IUS, the #10 ranked team in the nation. It was only in the last five minutes of the game that the Grenadiers were able to successfully pull away from the visiting Eagles.

For Alice Lloyd, Stuart Stamper played well with 20 points and 8 rebounds, while Terry Muse added 18 points and 7 rebounds.

For IU Southeast, Jake Simpson had 18 points.

The Eagles will finally return home to face Asbury University on February 7th. The game will tip-off at 8 PM.
