The Alice Lloyd Eagles collided with the Berea Mountaineers on Tuesday night where the Eagles suffered another setback in conference play, 96-83. The game was played at the Seabury Center in Berea, Kentucky.

Berea jumped out to a 22-11 start over Alice Lloyd early in the first half. The Eagles seemed unfazed by this as they would make a run to get within two of the home team. However, that would be short-lived as Berea would reel off a 29-12 run in the last seven minutes of the first stanza to take a 54-35 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Eagles (9-14, 2-8 KIAC) were determined to rally against Berea. Alice Lloyd slashed into the lead, cutting the deficit down to five against the home team twice. Unfortunately, the Eagles could not get any closer as Berea (14-9, 6-2 KIAC) built their margin back up to double figures and would not allow another challenge.

Cody Stumbo had 19 points for the Eagles while Terry Muse produced a good effort with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Justin Hobbs also got in on the action with 10 points and 7 assists.

Berea’s Tevin Webster scored 26 points.

The Eagles face their final opponent in this four-game road stretch on Saturday, February 2nd, versus IU Southeast. That game will be played at 4 PM.
