The Alice Lloyd College Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs are set to open up the second half of their respective seasons on January 4th in a double-header at ALC’s Grady Nutt Athletic Center.  Both teams will be facing Point Park University out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Pioneers of Point Park in a game played earlier in the season, but the men lost to PPU on the road.

The Lady Eagles are coming off of a stellar win in overtime versus UPike. They currently sit tied with Brescia for the #2 ranking in the KIAC.  Point Park has the best record in the conference, having only lost to Alice Lloyd. The ALC men have had a tough season thus far, but have managed to hold steady at .500.  They squeaked by Brescia in their final game before the Christmas break and will face a stiff challenge from Point Park this Friday, seeing that they will have to overcome some rust from not having played since December 8th.

Much of ALC’s league play still lies ahead of them on the schedule. The games versus Point Park will be a challenging opening.  Tipoff for the women’s game is at 2 PM with the men following at 4 PM.  They will have a sharp turnaround on Saturday, January 5th, when the Lady Eagles are set to play host to Carlow University at 2 PM with the men following at 4 PM versus KIAC powerhouse IU Southeast.
